Virtually a monopoly wine from Serralunga d’Alba. A steep southeast facing vineyard of rich clay and calcarous soil, this wine is powerful and yet elegant. Winemaker Maurilio Palladino prefers this to be a Riserva Barolo since it takes a longer time to mature and therefore has a very long life. Rarely released by the winery before at least 6-8 years of aging.

Review(s) | 97 Pts. (Platinum) Decanter " An immensely powerful wine with huge yet refined, tightly wound tannins and great elegance and beauty. Richly layered black fruit, prune and tobacco leaves with hints of tea. Concentrated and grippy , this will go on and on." 9/30/2018 90 pts. Wine Enthusiast "Aromas of dark-skinned berry, forest floor and baking spice lead the nose. The chewy palate offers dried black cherry, tobacco, clove and anise alongside the fine-grained tannins." 11/30/2018 |
