If you are lucky enough to have one of Enrico Pozzesi’s Riserva Viacosta wines, take your time enjoying it. In 2007 this south facing single vineyard of old vine Sangiovese was 48 years old. Enrico only produced a ‘riserva’ from this vineyard a few times every decade. The Viacosta vineyard was replanted in 2008 and in the future will produce the ‘Vigna Viacosta’ wine.
Deep concentration of Sangiovese flavors of classic cherry, earth and a hint of smoky pistachio nuts.
