Badia Al Colle
Between the rolling hills of Chianti, the old stone houses, and cypress lined drives of Tuscan villas you will find the property that produces Badia al Colle. This well respected winery has been producing top Chianti wines for over four generations. The winery and the ancient abbey this wine is named for have been in the family since 1882.
Location of Vineyard
Badia al Colle or “Abby on the Hill” is produced in Castellina in Chianti; the heart and soul of the Chianti Classico region, between Florence and Siena. Grapes come from one of only 6 D.O.C.G. zones in Tuscany. Planted varietals include Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Merlot, and Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
Badia Al Colle is committed to upholding their long held tradition started more than 130 years ago. Renewal of vineyards, precise selection of Sangiovese clones and careful picking at harvest time have always favored quality or quantity. Intimately connected with the vineyards they come from, these wines put an emphasis on enjoyment, marking a modern approach to traditional winemaking.
