Location Of Vineyard
Rosarubra is situated in a small town called Pietranico in the province of Pescara, which is roughly 1300 feet above sea level. The approximate 75 acres represent a unique, pleasant and uncontaminated place where biological and biodynamic agriculture blends with its own essence. The company, biologically certified in 2003, adopts a biodynamic agricultural system improving the soil fertility.
Winemaking Philosophy & Biodynamics Certification
The land’s history informs the agricultural vocation of the place for vine cultivation. It’s now certain that Montepulciano d’Abruzzo has been present in these areas since the early 1800s, decreeing its starting point for the spread of Montepulciano all over the region.
In addition to a biological certification, the Rosarubra winery is also DEMETER-certified for biodynamic agriculture. The principle that is at the base of this discipline is to recover the fertility of the ground as it was in origin. The winery believes the continuous use of chemical agents on grounds and crops has created an impoverished soil that has lost its peculiar characteristics. With the natural techniques proposed by biodynamics, the ground is free to grow and become wealthy and alive once again.
